Ambleside

Ambleside village in is ideally situated, lying at the hub of the Lake District. Its location has made the village one of the principle tourist centers in the Cumbria.

The lakes of Windermere, Coniston, Grasmere, Rydal and Ullswater are spread like spokes of a wheel from Ambleside. Surrounding this picturesque scenery are the mountains and fells which have made the Lake District a walker's paradise. Ambleside and its surrounding area are heavy in its literacy heritage; the homes of Wordsworth, Ruskin, Beatrix Potter, Coleridge, Dequincey and Dr Arnold of Rugby are all within a 5 mile radius.

Ambleside village is known for its quality shops, museum, craft centers, arts and entertainment, hotels, restaurants and bars.
