 From
the North
Leave the M6 at junction 40. Follow the A66 towards
Keswick. Take the A591 south to Ambleside. At Ambleside
follow the one-way system around the village. When the
single lane becomes two lanes, move into the right hand
lane. Turn right at the petrol station onto Wansfell
Road.
At the bottom of Wansfell Road at the T-junction, turn
right and stay in the right hand lane. Rothay Garth Bed and Breakfast car
park is the second turning on the right.
From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 36. Follow the A591 towards
Windermere; from Windermere continue on the A591 to Ambleside.
At the first set of traffic lights as you enter Ambleside
carry straight ahead. At the petrol station turn left
onto Wansfell Road. At the bottom of Wansfell Road at
the T-junction, turn right and stay in the right hand
lane. Rothay Garth Bed and Breakfast car park is the second turning on
the right.

Windermere, 4 miles from Ambleside.
Bus routes:
Main Stagecoach Cumbria lines to pass through Ambleside
are the 555 and 556 every hour from Keswick - Lancaster,
Lancaster - Keswick. Please check with the bus company.
